Jenny asks…
looking to compare grady white versus hydra-sports fishing boats?
can not decide witch one is better

Daniel Ambrose answers:
Grady. The total build quality is better, from the lamination schedule to the fit and finish.
Price does say a LOT about a boat, so research the sales prices.
Grady’s hold their value much better than a HS.
Perhaps you’d get more answers if you placed this question in the Boating forum.

Michael asks…
Can you help save the Stadium Dog?
University of Alabama Fans will you please save the Stadium Dog?
Here is a link to the petition to save the Bryant Denny Stadium Dog —–> http://www.petitiononline.com/drgonzo9/petition.html
The unthinkable is a reality for Alabama football.
We’re not talking about losing to Louisiana-Monroe, or being defeated two years in a row by Mississippi State or losing six straight games to Auburn. We’re not even talking about the possibility that former UA quarterback Kenny Stabler, the best college football radio analyst in the business, may be sidelined this season after a DUI arrest over the weekend in Robertsdale.
No, this is a matter of the gravest import. The culinary staple of hardcore Alabama fans — the classic hot dog — may soon be kicked out of Bryant-Denny Stadium.
That’s because Crimson Tide Sports Marketing Inc., which controls concession rights for UA athletics, has signed a new deal with a Connecticut-based vendor who seeks a more upscale dining experience for sports fans than just hot dogs and popcorn.
The deal ends an association of more than two decades between the university and the Birmingham-based Yarbrough Co. for concessions and food.
Yarbrough’s centerpiece was the beloved “stadium dog,” topped with a special sauce. Many longtime fans associate the taste of that sauce with Alabama football.
An official of the new firm, Centerplate Inc., says it’s too early to start talking about menu plans. The company says its stadium food will reflect local culture.
Well, local culture: In Philadelphia, that means Philly cheese steaks. In San Diego, it’s fish tacos at the stadium. San Francisco offers a tofu dog.
But in Tuscaloosa?
Assuming that non-stadium local specialties like grits, country ham with red-eye gravy and buttermilk biscuits are excluded, you’re talking about Cokes, burgers and chips.
And hot dogs. With special sauce.
The sooner the Connecticut vendor understands that, the better.

Robert asks…
I am asking for advice on where to live in the PI’s?
Hi my friends,
I am retiring in 2 years. I want ot live my last years in the Philippines. I have narrowed my choices. I want some input from the people who are more familiar with their provinces than I am. My choices are: Cebu City, Tagatay Thal, Boracay, Levite, or my number one choice is Batangas. I live in San Diego which is beautiful and the weather is always wonderful here. I want to be near US Veterans facilities since I am a veteran…but I am not military retired but I can receive medical attention if needed. I am still very active, I enjoy playing sports, surfing swimming, volleyball, golf, and fishing.
I want mountains and a change of climate like Tagatay offers I’ve been there 2 times. But I want the beaches and the beautiful scenery of sand water and beautiful Pinay.
I am in the process of ending a disastrous 7 year marriage. My wife was born and raised in Roxas City. She is gago. There is no future with her.
But I want to continue my dream of being in the Philippines with a pretty Filipino woman in the near future.
Where is my best choice to live. Please give me the Pros and Cons.
Salamatpo kaibigans. JR

Sharon asks…
[LONG] You think you’ve heard ‘em all? I need ‘girl’ advice – check out this story.?
It all started almost a year ago, last June. I met a girl at work (though we work in different departments) and there was immediate chemistry. I’m 26, shes 22. In my “maturity” I decided it would be inappropriate to be anything more than friends, so I kept all feelings relative to our defined friendship. We hung out, went out to bars with friends, chilled at each other’s places – but maintained a boundary.
Even though I had established clearly and vocally that I just wanted to be friends, I don’t believe it was ever taken seriously – by her or myself. We flirted constantly; There was hardly a conversation we didn’t. I had exclaimed to my friends that I didn’t want anything more than friendship in an attempt to convince them and myself I wasn’t falling deeply for her.
One evening, everything changed. We went out to a few bars with some good friends and she was all over me. There was NO doubt: she wanted me back home and in bed with her. Terribly awkwardly I extricated myself from the situation by using the ‘designated driver’ card (“I have to take all my friends home.”). She was disappointed, a little hurt. It was evident she hadn’t been turned down often and she took it hard. I didn’t sleep that night – I did everything wrong and established a very self destructive pattern, as you will read.
At this junction I had 2 options – apologize the next day and we’d be together today, or dig in my heels… I did the latter. I stood firm on my “no dating co-workers” policy – which is ridiculous because we don’t actually work together, have different bosses, offices, ect… However, I’m stubborn and am the emotional equivalent of a 14 year old.
A few weeks later she hosted a party in which I attended. Here I had one ‘last’ chance – another guy was making his move. IF I wanted I could have interjected and we’d still be together. HOWEVER, I with my sense of superiority (“I don’t need anyone in my life”) simply left the party announcing a previous engagement I had with another female – a complete fabrication.
Shortly after this party I was involved in a motorcycle accident. I broke both arms and my ripped my left PCL in half. Sounds nasty, but it wasn’t that bad. 6 months later I was back in the gym and am in better health than I ever was previously. During the 3 months I was out of work or simply unable to do anything more than watch TV this girl hooked up with that other guy and come August they will have been together for a year. She moved in with him a couple months ago.
Over the last 3 months I’ve been incredibly bipolar in all my interactions with her. Some days I’m chatty, other’s its all I can do to simply ignore her existence. Now its more of that – I pass her by as if she wasn’t there. (This I fear is my permanent reality)
She has recently expressed that she wants to continue being friends. During that conversation she said that, “While I’m with [this guy], I know we can’t be together.” — or something to that effect. I idiotically corrected her, “Never…” I don’t think she took that well, I certainly didn’t.
If this was simply the case, it wouldn’t be too bad – there’s other fish in the sea – right? However this “crush” of mine is deep. Anytime we discuss something we agree. For example, child rearing. I expressed I’d rather adopt simply because it’d avoid the messy years. Not to mention we’d be saving a kid from the city’s terrible adoption circuit. She apparently said the exact same thing. Currently living on the East Coast (and hailing from Seattle) I talk about how I can’t wait to get back to the west, especially LA. She wants the same, coming from San Diego. We love concerts, similar tastes in music, fine wines, snow sports, the beach, travelling, working out, even the Suicide Girls (she wants to be one, and I can make it happen), ect… the list goes on.
Currently this guy she’s with won’t let her do things if there’s a remote chance of us being close; hes jealous and has expressed a low-level hatred of my existence. He’d prefer we never talk again and if my bipolarness has anything to say, that’s the reality. This is odd considering I’ve been nothing but kind and considerate to him. The reality of their situation from what I understand, is that ‘they’ are just temporary.
All this said, what do you recommend I do – if anything? I’ve come to the point where all I do is think about her. Every waking moment; her. I’m loosing grip on reality – no joke. Most of this torture is my own doing, compounding memories and mistakes on top of each other in an ever repeating psycho-shredding loop.
She doesn’t know any of this about me. I’m sure she thinks I don’t want anything to do with her. How the hell do I explain myself? How do I
@Valerie – You’re absolutely right, it is complicated. I how would simply begin to explain all this? My first thought was to hopefully get a few answers here and just send her the link – let her read it and go from there.

Daniel Ambrose answers:
Wow . . . Being in your position i would feel like crap . Let’s say I’m you , if i really DO feel these strong feelings for her then i would most likely tell her . Screw the guy she was ‘yours’ first . I’m sure it’s going to get reallyyy complicated but I know it’s all going to be worth it at the end

Your Questions About Sport Fishing Yachts

William asks…
In all fairness, isn’t it more important to be able to depreciate your airplane or yacht over 5 years instead?
of 7 years than to have Medicare for some old lady?
I crew on fishing boats during the tourist season, helping deliver the Sport Fishing Boats to various tournaments around Florida, Mexico and the Caribbean for the owners.
I had never heard of an accelerated depreciation schedule until a few years ago but I got a raise out of the deal.
One owner told us that if Obama is not stopped he will sell the boat and we will be unemployed.
And Jesus do I like that job because we get to sit around on the boats and drink while we wait for the owners to fly in.

Has the AFL ever featured in way on postage stamps ?
Our Olympic Gold medalist, Amercas Cup yachting, Cricket etc but I can’t recall any VFL/AFL, be it Premiership Team, medal winners, shots like Jezza’s mark etc. One would think that as our only home-grown sport and as popular as it is that it should rate higher on Australia Posts list than birds animals & fish. Just curious !

Daniel Ambrose answers:
Funnily enough, I have about 30 stamps of West Coast Eagles players which I purchased at the Post Office. They had Eagles & Dockers avaliable. They are valid to use and are great…I’m saving them, just to keep as a memorbilia kind of thing, but I could use them whenever I wanted.

Your Questions About Sport Fishing San Francisco

Carol asks…
Why do so many liberals like things that a lot of Americans can’t relate to?
Operas, foreign films, museum passes, symphonies, universities, foreigners, weird food like Arugula, wine, books, art galleries, vegetarianism, French….it just seems like every single person who goes for this stuff is a liberal, usually someone from San Francisco or New York. Why not just enjoy what regular people like and learn to relate to others instead? I don’t talk about things that people don’t understand and I don’t go for entertainment that no one watches and I have a lot of friends as a result b/c they can talk to me easily. I don’t exclude people by talking about museums and plays, I talk about normal stuff like politics, sports, going to Vegas, fishing…..stuff that doesn’t exclude people.

Daniel Ambrose answers:
There are two types of Liberals, those who are educated, like books, and traveling etc, and then there’s more of the “snob” which are more into the weird foods and such, not to say that Operas arn’t the shit (I’ve only been to one and it was amazing), but a lot of people go to them just for the status symbol. So I think you’ve just meshed the “extreme” liberals with the normal. Conservatives are the same way, more so in fact, your average conservative just doesnt like change and only believes in white/christan laws, where as your extreme conservative believes that rich deserve tax cuts, CEO’s deserve bonuses, and that we should basically always be at war. I think your assuming that most Americans think as you think, which is most likely not the case. The US is as big as Europe and easily as diverse, there are no “regular people

28. Mining (starting with the gold rush and then silver)
29. Chicago Fire (it happened years before)
30. Morality (though they’d argue, and it doesn’t describe ANY age)
31. Baseball (invented as a game for soldiers in forts [including Fort Sumter] just before the Civil War, incidentally- the field is diamond shaped because the green area of forts were diamond shaped]

Your Questions About Sport Fishing San Diego
December 30, 2011 by Daniel Ambrose · Leave a Comment

Donna asks…
How safe is it to eat the fish in Lake Hodges San Diego?
Lake Hodges Reservoir Escondido California North San Diego county.
http://www.sandiego.gov/water/recreation/hodges.shtml
Anyone eating the fish out of Lake Hodges? Any issues? Being right there in the city puts me off. I fish for food and not sport so being able to safely eat my catch is necessary.
It IS a reservoir yes. But there are way too many drinking water reservoirs in this country that are for emergency water and not for daily “drinking” unadulterated. These same waters are repeatedly closed for fishing and recreation. Look up multiple reservoirs in Athens, Georgia and New York. San Diego is not that far off from either place.
There are no signs saying not to eat the fish. Half of the locals I have talked to would even consider eating the fish, another reason to question the quality of the water.
San Diego imports 90% of its drinking water and that is not coming from Hodges.
I am looking for actual life experience with this lake, not just hypothetical blanket statements.
Some more info on the lake:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LakeHodges/message/203
http://www.sandiego6.com/news/local/story/Drinking-Water-to-Come-from-Lake-Hodges/8vVL_R_iKUyoc95IYxLMFQ.cspx
Between recent sewage spills, agricultural runoff and city pollution, I am still not sure about this lake. No

Daniel Ambrose answers:
It’s a reservoir — it’s full of drinking water. Since the water is clean enough to drink, the fish will be clean enough to eat.
ADD: If you’re unsure about it, then don’t eat the fish. But, like the other guy said, if there are no warning signs, it’s probably safe — otherwise the water district is risking huge lawsuits in the event people do get sick.

Lizzie asks…
I need a new friend, I live in San Diego?
im in my mid-20′s and have been living in San Diego now for a little while. I have found it difficult to find a friend that shares my interests.
I like camping and fishing, as well as some sports but I am not an avid sports fan. Sometimes I like to sit around and watch tv and drink beers, or play computers games. I dont care much for the club scene, but i like smaller dive bars in north park and south park.
I have an ok job, but not a lot of extra spending cash so I mostly prefer to do cheap stuff. Whats the best way to find a friend that shares those same interests?
